Here comes a study claiming that talking on a cellphone in a car is no less dangerous if you use a hands-free device.
Suppose they're right. When will we be seeing a study about talking to other people who are in the car? Some drivers simply have to look at you when they talk, even if you're in the back seat. And what of kids? - carseat or no, you couldn't ask for much more of a distraction. Never mind all of the other stupid stunts people pull with makeup, changing clothes, fiddling with a car stereo or countless others. Why pick on cell phones in particular?
I smell a shakedown - some politicians have decided that the cellphone manufacturers haven't given them enough money lately.
